Section of bas relief on northern front of Apadana. Bas-relief represents some of the twenty-odd nations of the Persian Empire at the time, paying tribute to their King with various gifts. A nation or people of the Empire is represented between each set of cyprus trees on the bas-relief. Many have been identified and found to be carrying those gifts characteristic of their region or nation. To the right is an inscription giving credit to the builders and founders of the structure. July, 1945.
