Beschreibung:
1982-1985 Laverda RGS 1000. Introduced as a luxury offering for the 1982 year, priced far above Japanese competitors, it featured a new frame with red fairing. Power came from the same inline-three as earlier, but the crank’s three throws were now phased at 120 degrees instead of the previous 180 degrees (as with all post-1982 Laverda triples). Beautiful and exotic it was, but it didn't sell much - only 2500 were built until late 1985. Testers loved it, but many Laverda faithful considered it too civilized. It also cost much more than the recent Japanese superbikes, all of which were faster. In 1983 a fully equipped Executive model with integrated bags and fairing extensions (as fitted to this regular RGS) to keep your hands dry arrived, followed by the sportier, all-black, 95CV RGS Corsa. The RGS was phased out in 1985, replaced by the SFC 1000. The SFC combined the high-performance Corsa engine, revised bodywork, upgraded brakes and suspension, and new instruments. The SFC may have been more capable than any earlier Laverda, but the motorcycle industry had developed much faster yet and it proved Laverda's swan song. The last Laverda rolled out of the Breganze factory in 1988 (although the brand was revived in the 1990s).
