Paddington - South Wales express on Goring water-troughs.
View SE at Lower Basildon west of Pangbourne, towards Reading and London: ex-GWR Main Line. The 15.55 from Paddington to Neyland (due 22.35) is being worked as far as Swansea by Collett-design 4-6-0 No. 7016 'Chester Castle' (built 8/48, withdrawn 11/62) and is taking water, being non-stop to Newport - except for the stop at Badminton which under the lasting covenant with the Duke of Beaufort required of all trains in those days.
