Detail of the rock cliff "Kluckensteine" south of the village Vicht. The edge-rounded components were transported during intense rainfall events over a short distance and deposited on a wide coastal plain at the beginning of the Middle Devonian. Silt layers between coarser beds delivered plant fossil from the Eifelian.
