This is one of the most historic Maserati 250Fs, competing in 39 Grand Prix events between 1955 and 1959. The first Maserati 250F appeared at the 1954 Argentine Grand Prix and was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio, and between 1954 and 1958 a total of 32 Maserati 250Fs were built and competed in and won over 55 races. This Maserati team car (chassis 2515) was primarily built for driver Roberto Mieres but other drivers including Peter Collins and Carroll Shelby as well as Stirling Moss, who won the Gold Cup at Oulton Park in 1955. It was sold in 1956 to the Italian team Scuderia Guastalla and driven by Ottorino Volonterio and raced in Europe by several drivers, including Maurice Trintignant and Hans Herrmann. It was displayed in the Donington Grand Prix Collection in 1965 where it stayed until acquired by the current owner.
