素有“梦之队”之称的中国跳水队于当地时间7月19日抵达日本。中国跳水队领队周继红表示，队伍已为本届奥运会做好了准备。自1984年洛杉矶奥运会以来，中国跳水队夺取了跳水项目总共56枚金牌中的40枚，不过从未在单届奥运会上实现包揽，这也是“梦之队”东京之行的目标。对于能否包揽8金，周继红表示，将会尽最大努力。
