Wynne's Folly All that remains of a much larger castle mansion, built by Lord Headley Wynne in 1867, although he never lived there. The estate had a notorious legacy of evictions due to non payment of rents, increased to pay for the construction of the castle. The castle was used as a British military reservists training area during WW1. It was burnt down by Republican forces during the Irish Civil War in 1921 or 1922 and never rebuilt.
