Left, the gravestone of the Austrian writer Karl Schönherr. Right, the gravestone of Walter Nowotny, an Austrian-born German fighter ace of World War II. The photo was taken on November 15, 2004 - one week after the 60th anniversary of Nowotny's death. The grave is located at the central cemetry ("Zentralfriedhof") of Vienna, Austria. In 2003 after a vehement political conflict its status as an honorary grave was revoked by the Vienna city council.
