My name is Manjusha. I was born and brought up in Andhra Pradesh, India. Telugu is the native language of people from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh - both are two states in South India. It is the third largest spoken language in India and thirteenth of the most spoken languages worldwide. It is a langauge that originated from Sanskrit. To a person from South India, Telugu script might look very similar to the Kannada script(Kannada is another language spoken in South India). One thing that I find very beautiful about Telugu orI should say -Indian languages- is that the way the language changes itself according to the person to whom you are speaking.

Let me give you an example. If I am speaking to a person of my age, I have the liberty to be slightly informal. So to address him/her I can say "Nuvvu" but the same to an elderly person becomes "Meeru". The same way,the sentence changes depending upon the gender of the people about whom you are speaking - for instance the sentence "Ekkandiki veluthunnavu" becomes "Ekkadiki velthunnadu" if you are talking about a guy and " Ekkadiki velthundi" if its a girl. Also,Telugu is spoken in different slangs in different places within the state. That is something that I find very beautiful. Even though the language the same, it can sound so different. There are times when I couldn't understand people because of the heavy slang. That's all for now. Telugu is not my mother tongue so please forgive me if there are any mistakes. Hope I have told you enough about Telugu. Do visit Hyderabad if you get time. It is a very beautiful place.

Don't forget to taste the Biryani! Thank you.
