Evidence of Public Domain Status:

At the beginning of the trailer, there's a green MPAA card, which implicates that the trailer was made for screening in US movie theaters. Through the whole video, there's no sign of a copyright notice added, which was required to be protected under US law. The ending line "Comming soon to a theater near you from Universal Pictures" further reaffirmates the fact that the trailer was made for the 1983 theatrical release and not a home video release. Even though the film was a canadian production, the US company Universal Pictures was the main distributor of the film.
