LATE VARIETIES. Empire State. This new variety is a seedling fromthe White Elephant, which it somewhat resembles inform. Like its parent, it is very productive, and astrong grower; the tubers are large, oblong; eyesquite numerous, and slightly depressed ; skin white,sometimes with a tinge of pink around the eyes, andat the seed end; per lb., 75 cents; peck, $1.00;bushel. $3.00 ; barrel, $6.00. Vicks Improved Peachblow. This variety growscompact in the hill, is very productive, and ripensabout the same time as the Burbank; tubers mediumsize, oval-oblong, and handsomely formed.
