It was a busy day in Samoa for U.S. Ambassador and Gail Brown. The day started with Gail and Ambassador Brown officially opening the doors to Safata College’s newly constructed multistory classroom block, and then onto Sataoa Primary School to celebrate the completion of renovation works (6 classrooms, 1 teacher room & fencing replacement). Both of these projects were a the result of discussions between US Embassy Samoa and the US Government of Samoa as to how the US Embassy could assist in the aftermath of Cyclone Evan. Both projects were sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command as a result of discussions between US Embassy Samoa & Samoan Govt as to how to help Samoa meet it’s need for more classroom space and cyclone resistant structures. Next Gail and the Ambassador visited Magiagi Primary School to officially donate five computers, kindly donated from the Rotary Club of Petone Wellington & two printers from HP New Zealand. Thank you again to everyone, especially to the students for making time to be here.

After a few meetings, Gail, the Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission,Tony Greubel, hosted Cabinet Ministers, the diplomatic core, and specials guests of US Embassy Samoa at a reception in Vailima. The commitment to the Pacific is just as strong as it ever was and this will not change.

Talofa lava & thank you to everyone for their time today.
