Iraq (Oct. 3, 2004) – A U.S. Marine Corps EA-6B Prowler receives fuel during a mission over Iraq from a U.S. Air Force KC-10 Extender assigned to the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron. The primary mission of the EA-6B Prowler is Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses in support of strike aircraft and ground troops by interrupting enemy electronic activity and obtaining tactical electronic intelligence within the combat area. Die Grumman EA-6B Prowler war ein trägergestütztes Kampfflugzeug zur elektronischen Kriegsführung des Herstellers Northrop Grumman. Es handelte sich dabei um eine Abwandlung der A-6 „Intruder“. Nach Außerdienststellung 2015 durch die US Navy standen Prowlers zuletzt nur noch in Diensten des United States Marine Corps, wo sie bis März 2019 auf der Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point stationiert war.
