Liste von neuzeitlich ausgestorbenen Pflanzen und Pilzen

Es sind weltweit mehr als 330.000 Pflanzenarten und etwa 140.000 Pilzarten bekannt. Die Rote Liste der gefährdeten Arten der International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) listet im Oktober 2024 aber nur 73.558 Pflanzen- bzw. 818 Pilzarten auf, von denen immerhin in der Neuzeit, also seit dem Jahr 1500, schon 137 Arten als ausgestorben gelten, 45 Arten als in der Wildnis ausgestorben und 6.117 weitere Arten als kritisch bedroht, davon 625 kritisch bedroht, möglicherweise ausgestorben. 11.861 Arten gelten als gefährdet. Bei 6.161 dieser insgesamt 74.376 Arten lautet der Gefährdungsstatus allerdings „zu wenig Daten vorhanden“. .. weiterlesen
