MAGNETIC BRAKE APPLIED TO MAXIMUM TRACTION TRUCK strengthened thereby, the yoke bemg so made at present as to moreevenly distribute the strains coming upon it. In the brake, as ap-plied to maximum traction trucks, the compactness of the ap-paratus is shown in the engraving. The circuits have beenleft as formerly, the electrical part of the apparatus beingunchanged by the slight mechanical improvements men-tioned above. The exhibit of the brake in operation, withthe accompanying heaters in the car, which are a featureof the system, in conjunction with the Westinghouse Elec-tric & Manufacturing Companys exhibit at the recentconvention of the American Street Railway Association, attracted more attention from the delegates than has beengiven to any individual exhibit for some years.
