Close-up of the turret of a knocked-out Churchill III tank of 'Kingforce', 2 November 1942. The hole made by an 88mm shell which penetrated the turret front can be clearly seen.

This image was catalogued as taken by the Army Film and Photographic Unit (AFPU) which operated between 1942—1946.[1] The AFPU was composed of members of the forces during their active service, so their works are covered by Crown Copyright provisions. Faithful reproductions may be reused under that licence, which is considered expired 50 years after their creation.
