Site of the Battle of Loudoun Hill (1307) King Robert the Bruce inflicted punishment on the English in 1307 at a battle here. But he would not recognise the site now. Extensive sand extraction has removed the hills and valleys and resulted in this flat green area. Loudoun Hill is in the background of this picture.
