SHOP FRONT IN THE RINGSTRASSE, VIENNA DESIGNED BY HANS PRUTSCHER draughtsman, he determined, on settling down inVienna, to work his way up as an architect ofshops, which may,now be said to be his speciality.A tailors shop (see below) was his first effort.This particular shop was a very old one, and thelighting arrangements being very bad, it had there-fore to be entirely reconstructed. Considerableuse has been made of aluminium for the framesof the glass, the gasstoves, and other pur-poses. Every availablespace has been utilised;the doors of the wall-cup-boards open on b othsides, all the shelves aremovable, and the workexceedingly well done.The reception roomshown on the oppositepage was designed for Wiener Mode at anexhibition of fashionsheld in Vienna sometime ago. The interiorof a poulterers shop isextremely refreshing,everything is delightfullyexpressive of its purpose.The mosaic frieze de-signed by Hubert vonZwickle is a charming ornament of fine decorative effect.
