Covers an area of southern British Central Africa extending from Port Herald approximately 100 miles northwards to Zomba. Portrays hydrology, relief by spot heights and form lines, railways, roads and tracks, settlements and significant buildings, international boundaries and place names. Highlights the proposed route of the Shire Highlands Railway from Port Herald to Blantyre.The map is undated, but was made after the incorporation of the British Central Africa Company in 1902, and before the map's accession date stamp of 1907.

Shire-Hochland

Das Shire-Hochland ist ein gestreckter, etwa 130 km langer Gebirgszug in Malawi entlang des Shire-Flusses von Bangula im Süden bis Liwonde im Norden. Im Wesentlichen ist es eine lange Hochebene auf etwa 900 m Höhe, aus der von Süden nach Norden Berge wie der Thyolo 1462 m, der Soche 1533 m, der Ndirande 1612 m, der Chiradzulu 1773 m und das Zomba-Massiv mit über 2000 m ragen.
