AWM caption : "Richmond, NSW, c. 1928. Supermarine Seagull III aircraft A9-4 of No. 101 Fleet Co-operation Flight RAAF stands on the ground outside a hangar at RAAF Aerodrome Richmond. One of the aircraft's three crew members is standing in front of the fuselage, while some RAAF ground crew members are standing behind it. Another member of the Seagull's crew is sitting in an open cockpit in the nose of the aircraft (right). The Seagull was a seaplane that was carried aboard some RAN ships from which it was used for fleet cooperation duties and aerial surveys."

Supermarine Seagull (1921)Die Supermarine Seagull war ein einmotoriges, dreisitziges Aufklärungsflugboot der Royal Air Force, das auch auf britischen Flugzeugträgern zum Einsatz kam. Die Seagull war ein Amphibienflugzeug, was das Landen auch auf Flugzeugträgerdecks möglich machte, und ihre Tragflächen konnten, wie bei den meisten Trägerflugzeugen, zurückgeklappt werden.
