Ships of North Atlantic Treaty Orgnisation Standing Naval Force Atlantic steam into Boston harbour, Massachusetts (USA). The leading ship is the U.S. Navy destroyer USS McCaffery (DD-860). The other STANAVFORLANT ships at that time were:

• the British frigate HMS Dido (F104);
• the Portugese frigate Almirante Pereira da Silva (F472);
• the West German destroyer Hamburg (D181);
• the Dutch frigate Hr.Ms. Isaac Sweers (F814);
• the Canadian frigate HMCS Assiniboine (DDE 234).
