Plaque commemorating Drake's Leat, Burrator Dam. This plaque is on the wall by the side of the road approaching the dam from the south. When Sir Francis Drake was Mayor of Plymouth, he proposed a leat to supply water from Dartmoor to Plymouth, and the required Act of Parliament was passed in 1585. The plaque celebrates the 400th anniversary of the Act.
