Pipar og Salt is a Faroese comedy group consistnig mainly of two men: Jákup Veyhe and Sjúrður Skaale. They make fun of people, especially of politicians from the Faroe Islands, but also religious people, common people, people from villages, people from Tórshavn, well they make fun about just about anything. Some years after they started their act Sjúrður Skaale became a politician himself. He was elected for the Faroese parliament, the Løgting in 2008 for Tjóðveldi. But in 2011 he left the party, and shortly after he joined Javnaðarflokkurin (The Socialist Party) and got elected for the Danish Folketing. Pipar og Salt was very popular in the Faroe Islands. They have made several funny characters which are known by most people. They have also made several songs along with their acting. Several of these songs were popular and often played in the Faroese radio. They are not as active anymore. This photo if from June 2011 when they had a come back at the Jóansøka in Tvøroyri. Later that summer they performed in Tórshavn, they had great succes in both places.
