Provincial seal of Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

Ilocos's long dry season is conducive to numerous cottage industries which constitute the main livelihood of the Ilocanos. The traditional yarn spinning wheel represents Abel Iloco, handwoven fabric that has been part of the Ilocano culture for centuries. The plow and green pasture represents the main livelihood of its people.
