View southward on the ECML from Spital Bridge, towards North staion and London, also March via Peterborough East. The 11.05 (Summer Saturdays, 2nd Class only)King's Cross - Skegness (due 14.05) will turn off at Werrington Junction to go via Spalding and Boston, here headed by Thompson B1 4-6-0 No. 61174 (built 6/47, withdrawn 12/63). An Up ECML train is approaching North station and at its Platform 3 is another Down express, with a Gresley A4. The ex-Midland lines on the right, which run round to the East station, are unoccupied at the moment. (See other views from this spot).
