PLUMBBOB/HOOD - NEVADA TEST SITE -- HOOD's mushroom cloud begins to form above Yucca Flat. The Friday, July 5, 1957, above nominal test sent a thermal wave across the desert, igniting bushes and other growth on nearby foothills just to the right of the dust cloud near the surface of the ground.

Operation Plumbbob war die 14. Serie von US-amerikanischen Kernwaffentests, die zwischen dem 24. April und 7. Oktober 1957 auf der Nevada Test Site durchgeführt wurde.
