The sharpshooter room at the Norwegian Law Museum. On the floor is the suitcase of Trondheim's sharpshooter Johan Caspar Öhlstein, his axes and the wooden block where the convicts laid their heads. On the wall hangs swords for beheading. The skull comes from a 22-year-old boy. If we look closer at the skull, we see that he has had his ears cut off. We also find an assorted selection of items for punishments of less serious crimes, such as gape sticks, Spanish cloaks and swords. Photo: Ola A. Vistnes.
