Painting of Napoleon III at Iolani Palace. A copy of the Franz Xaver Winterhalter's painting of Napoleon III. Sent to Kamehameha V in June 20, 1868, lost enroute in Tahiti and arriving in Honolulu on December 16, 1870, more than three months after the surrender of the French army at Sedan. Hung in the state dining room of Iolani Palace during the reign of King Kalakaua. [1]
