The "Principality of Monaco" is a tiny country on the south coast of France, facing onto the Mediterranean Sea.

It is not part of France and has been ruled over by the House of Grimaldi since 1297.

It has become a home for the wealthy and famous partly due to it's favourable tax regime. There is plenty of wealth on show with high-end cars and yachts to be seen (only a small part of the harbour is shown here.)

The entire "City-State" is only 2 square Kilometres (0.75 of a square mile) in size.
