U.S. Navy ships at Naval Station San Diego, California (USA) piers, in December 1986. Visible are the two Mercy-class hospital ships USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) (left) and the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) tied up at the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) piers. NASSCO is located within NAVSTA. Also visble is USS Albert David (FF-1050) undergoing overhaul and two Knox-class frigates in the background.
