Autograph of Walter Rowe (1584 - 1671) in the Album amicorum of David von Mandelsloh 1614; this is belived to be "The first piece for lyra-viol to have been copied on the continent is a courante in ffhfh tuning by the English violist and composer Walter Rowe, written out in August 1614 in Hamburg, shortly before he was appointed as violist in the Elector of Brandenburg's chapel" [1]
