Spirit ist eine im Juni 2003 gestartete US-amerikanische Raumsonde der NASA zur Erforschung des Planeten Mars. Sie hieß ursprünglich Mars Exploration Rover A, kurz MER-A, und wurde nach dem Start in Spirit umbenannt. Spirit landete am 4. Januar 2004 im Gusev-Krater.
