Beschreibung:
The operculum of the red turban snail Pomaulax gibberosus (Dillwyn, 1817) (synonym: Lithopoma gibberosa) is calcareous and smooth, unlike the operculum of the similar wavy turban snail Megastraea undosa, formerly known as Astraea undosa and Lithopoma undosa. Lithopoma gibberosa is typical of central California, while Megastraea undosa is typical of southern California.
