The former President of Kiribati, Teburoro Tito, looks at a Christmas Shearwater (Puffinus nativitatis) burrow on Cook Islet, Kiritimati, Line Islands, Kiribati. Original field notes: President Tito, who is no longer President (he already served the allowable two terms), is very interested in wildlife. He was the President who worked with UNESCO to allow several Kiribati islands (Millennium/Caroline, Malden, Flint, parts of Kiritimati) to be included in an upcoming Central Pacific Islands World Heritage Site.
