Die britische Monarchie ist die parlamentarische Monarchie des Vereinigten Königreichs Großbritannien und Nordirland. Monarch ist seit dem 8. September 2022 König Charles III. Er und seine engeren Familienangehörigen nehmen verschiedene offizielle, zeremonielle und repräsentative Funktionen wahr. Der König besitzt zwar theoretisch die Befugnisse eines konstitutionellen Monarchen, übt seine Hoheitsrechte aber aufgrund eines jahrhundertealten Gewohnheitsrechts nicht mehr selbstständig aus, sondern ausschließlich gemäß den Vorgaben von Parlament und Regierung. Aus diesem Grund ist er de facto ein parlamentarischer Monarch.
