The commune of Junas, ( post code is F30250 and INSEE 30136) is situated north of the River Vidourle, south of Sommières in the departement of Gard. in the region Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France.The mediaeval village centre is similar to its neighbours, but the commune is noted for its quarry which dates from Roman times. The Quarry of Bon Temps is in the combe of the same name. The hard limestone was suitable for constructions, such as the bridge at Sommières, which for 2000 years has with stood the Vidourlades. The spectacular rock shapes make if a popular event venue hosting stone cutting workshops, and the Jazz à Junas concerts.
