The artwork was made in the 16th or early 17th century, Pontifical Gregorian University. It was drawn by a Roman painter. The scene is depicted in which the intention of establishment is entrusted to Jesuits. The words "Iaponicum (Japan)" can also be seen in the documents given by the Pope to the kneeling Jesuits. Ito Mancio, leader of the Tenshō embassy and the first official Japanese emissary to Europe (1583-1590), kneels in the artwork. They were sent by the Christian daimyo Ōtomo Sōrin.
