Halberstadt CL.II '15459-17' (14205021538)
This is the sole surviving example of the 900 Halberstadt CL.II aircraft built. The type was a successful two-seat escort fighter ground attack aircraft. This machine served as the personal mount of the C-in-C of the German military aviation, general Gerth von Hoeppner. Until 1943 it was exhibited at the German Aviation Collection, but was then moved to Poland for safety. It was at this time that the wings were lost, as they were for many of the collections aeroplanes. Found in 1945, in 1963 it moved to Krakow, where the restored fuselage is now on display in the 'WW1' hangar at the Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego. Krakow, Poland.
