Hadrian's Wall at Wallsend Not quite certain whether this is a piece of the original Hadrian's Wall

Hadrians_Wall or a replica. Located at the very eastern end of Hadrian's Wall and of Hadrians Wall National Trail which runs 135 km from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall/.

The path in the foreground also carries route 72 of the National Cycle Network (Hadrian's Cycleway http://www.cycle-routes.org/HADRIANSCYCLEWAY/ and the Tynemouth branch of the C2C Cycle Route http://www.c2c-guide.co.uk/ ).

In the background is the Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum

http://www.roman-britain.org/places/segedunum.htm opened in 2000.
