The aircraft carriers USS Saratoga (CV-3) (left) and HMS Victorious (R38) (right) at anchor at Noumea, New Caledonia, in 1943. Victorious operated with the Saratoga in the south-west Pacific from May to September 1943. During this time, she was code named (not renamed) as USS Robin, for signals purposes, derived from the character "Robin Hood".

HMS Victorious (R38) war der zweite Flugzeugträger der Illustrious-Klasse der Royal Navy, der im Rahmen des Flottenbauprogramms 1936 bestellt wurde.
