Beschreibung:
The German battleship Gneisenau in a floating dry dock at Kiel, Germany, after her passage through the Channel from Brest. She was bombed and torpedoed at Brest, France, later mined and work was in progress on her and already a good deal of the deck plating had been removed from the bows. Note the snow and ice. On the night of 26/27 February 1942, the RAF bombed the battleship. A bomb hit the powder magazine of turret "A". 112 sailors died and Gneisenau was decommissioned for the rest or the war.
