Front Pembela Islam

Die Front Pembela Islam, abgekürzt FPI, ist eine mittlerweile verbotene militante islamische Massenorganisation mit Sitz in Jakarta, die für die Einführung der Scharia in Indonesien kämpft und mit Gewalt gegen diejenigen vorgeht, die ihrer Auffassung nach gegen die Scharia verstoßen oder den Islam angreifen. Hierbei orientiert sie sich an dem koranischen Prinzip des Gebietens des Rechten und Verbietens des Verwerflichen. Weitere Ziele der Organisation sind Daʿwa, Dschihad und die Errichtung eines internationalen Kalifats.
