The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued Law No. 26 of 1961 regarding the national flag of the State of Kuwait so that it is in a horizontal shape, its length equals twice its width and divided into three equal horizontal sections, colored with green tops, white and red.
