Stringocephalus burtini ist ein relativ großwüchsiger Brachiopode mit schnabelartig vorragendem Wirbel der Stielklappe aus der Ordnung der Terebratulida. Im deutschsprachigen Raum ist die Art deshalb auch unter ihrem Trivialnamen als „Eulenkopf“ bekannt.
