Artwork depicting a Eotyrannus ("dawn tyrant"), a genus of tyrannosauroid hunting the neornithischian genus Hypsilophodon ("Hypsilophus-tooth"). Both genera are from the Early Cretaceous Wessex Formation beds located in the southwest coast of the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom.

Die Tyrannosauroidea ist eine Überfamilie der Coelurosaurier (Coelurosauria) innerhalb der theropoden Dinosaurier. Sie umfasst die Tyrannosauridae, zu denen etwa der bekannte Tyrannosaurus rex gehört, sowie die basalen, also die am Beginn der Entwicklungsreihe stehenden Arten.
