DromedarDas Dromedar, auch als Einhöckriges oder Arabisches Kamel bezeichnet, ist eine Säugetierart aus der Gattung der Altweltkamele innerhalb der Familie der Kamele (Camelidae). Es ist als Last- und Reittier in weiten Teilen Asiens und Afrikas verbreitet, in seiner Wildform jedoch ausgestorben. Nachkommen von freigelassenen oder entlaufenen Tieren leben heute noch in großer Zahl verwildert in den Zentralregionen Australiens. Der Name kommt aus dem griechischen δρομάς (dromás), was „laufend“ bedeutet. .. weiterlesen
