Das National Recording Registry ist das Verzeichnis US-amerikanischer Tondokumente, die als besonders erhaltenswert angesehen werden, da sie „kulturell, historisch oder ästhetisch wichtig sind oder über das Leben in den Vereinigten Staaten informieren oder dieses reflektieren“. Das Register wurde auf der Grundlage des National Recording Preservation Act aus dem Jahr 2000 aufgebaut. Auf Grundlage dieses Gesetzes wurde auch das National Recording Preservation Board geschaffen, dessen Mitglieder vom Librarian of Congress benannt werden.
