Located on the exterior of the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station, the Canadian-built Dextre, also known as the Special Purpose Dextrous Manipulator, is photographed by a crewmember during the STS-124 mission's second planned spacewalk. The blackness of space and Earth's horizon provide the backdrop for the scene.
