Sgt. Nara Tith, U.S. Army, uses a steel bar to tighten one of the turnbuckles holding an M-3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle in place on a flat bed railroad car at the rail head at Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 26, 1998, during Exercise Foal Eagle '98. Foal Eagle '98 is a combined, joint exercise supported by forces from the U.S. and Republic of Korea. In addition to providing hands-on field experience for forces of both nations, Foal Eagle '98 was designed to test rear area protection operations and major command, control and communications systems. Tith, of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry, is a participant in the railhead exercise that will move the 23rd Infantry's equipment to Camp Casey in support of Foal Eagle '98.

Ein Spannschloss ist eine Spannschraube bzw. eine Doppelmutter mit einem Rechts- und einem gegenläufigen Linksgewinde, die zwei Zugstangen mit entsprechenden Außengewinden durch Zugspannung zusammenhält.
