Beschreibung:
Cluanie Dam. Loch Cluanie (known in Gaelic as Loch Cluanaidh) is actually a reservoir, invisible here behind the massive wall of the Cluanie dam. The dam was built in the 1950s as a component in the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board's Glenmoriston generation project. The road seen running towards to dam is a remnant of the General Wade road. Since it was put under water it has twice been replaced by more modern stretches of the A87 trunk road which runs along the north shore of the loch.
